A Stay-cation in the city

Chicago. A gem city, in my humble opinion. Where do I even begin with my love for the Windy City? The food, the beach, the architecture, and all the things you can do. This city has so much to offer, it's a must visit for anyone!

I'm a bit late to share this, but I wanted to write about it anyways. This past weekend my aunt and I had a stay-cation in the city. She'd been wanting to take me out to celebrate my birthday one-on-one, but due to our schedules never lining up, we postponed it all the way to the end of October (a very belated celebration!). Anyways, I just wanted to share some of the places we stopped at during our night on the town.

1) Hide + Seek~ An elegant and rustic bar with a cozy atmosphere. Fun chandeliers with floor to ceiling windows that look out onto a very lively Randolph Street. The drinks we ordered from here were: Shadow Play (a smoky drink!) and B&T . The menu offers a handful of creative cocktails to satisfy almost everyone's calling. We also ordered a side of deliciously seasoned fries and dip. A great spot to hit up on the weekends!

2) Lazy Bird~ At this trendy underground cocktail bar, located in the cellar of the Hoxton Chicago, there is a variety of colorful cocktails to order from. Paired with live music, beautiful interior design, and the perfect moody lighting- giving it the perfect ambiance. My drink of choice? A Cosmopolitan- I figured it was a fun chance to channel a little Sex and the City vibe!

3) Mirra~ An upscale Indian-Mexican fusion restaurant. We had a late night dinner at this restaurant. Its vibrant fusion of Indian and Mexican culinary aspects really gives the food such a unique flavor. I'm vegetarian, so all of the food I ended up ordering had no meat, but even then, it was so good! The dining experience was great, as well. Each item was brought out one by one. Once you finished eating one item, a server would come clean up the table to bring you the next item, etc. Overall, a very cool experience!
